    Her failure and her pain did not disappear, but rekindled the hidden spars of her ire like a bone-dry forest. It erupted like a seething volcano, and no god could hold it back this time.



    She has failed. Nora died. And that worm, that puny bite of meat had murdered her! He had to die! HE HAD TO DIE! THEY ALL HAD TO DIE!!!



    She snarled in anger, took a deep breath, then burst out with the full force of her vast lungs, letting out all of her fury in a roar that bellowed like a true thunder. It was nothing less, but the cry of vendetta, the howling of merciless death.


  Her claws dug deep into the ground as they launched her on a death-bringing charge. The kind, shy, tactful and good-hearted daughter of the night ceased to exist, and instead, something much more terrible dwelled behind the night-black scales. Her otherwise so beautiful emerald gaze turned twisted, blazing with the light of a bloodthirsty demon. It was now when the storm of revenge has really been unleashed, it was now when the dreadful nightmare has truly come to life!" - Onyxsoul, Chapter 12.

Ever since she entered the pages of Onyxsoul, we've got to know Atherakhia as a gentle giant: a surprisingly shy, tactful, noble and kind soul hiding behind the menacing black scales. However, the chapters featuring her night hunt also showed that despite all of these traits, she is still a dragon, an apex predator, a beast capable of wreaking widespread havoc. And while her battle had a promising beginning, her slaying the murderers in a controlled dance of death, but the dreadful discovery of Nora's death changed everything. As a young member of her kind, Atherakhia is emotional, and witnessing such cruel evil invoked an uncontrollable wraith in her. She fled from the pain of failure into the bloodthirsty salvation of ire, and thus, the noble Daughter of the Night fell into the horrible Demon of the Night.

This incredible artwork was made for my by a dear friend, who based her work on the said scenes above. She managed to capture the rage of Atherakhia perfectly, featuring her as a beast you do not want to cross. It was an honour working with her, and I cannot thank her enough for all the time, patience and help she dedicated into this work. Her fondness for this black dragon and the story clearly shows!
