Description Well this is odd, nothing pony related in this pic HOW DARE I!! Heh anyways this was made as one of my final pieces for my art course that I'm currently taking and the topic was pollution. I find pollution a huge problem in our world today and I'm not just referring to global warming. We as humans are a large cause of many of the imbalances with the wildlife and we seem to advance forward at the expense of the world around us which leaves me wondering if we even know what the word "progress" means. So I decided to try and get at this topic I'd let my imagination run wild and this is what happened. I drew lots of inspiration  from artists like and because they are by far some of my favourite artists!

Now I won't make this a regular thing because I want this account to stat pony related but I may drop things like this in every now and again!

Also as a little notice the reason I haven't had much time lately is due to this stuff (my school work) I'm trying to get on top of it but it seems I underestimated the power of school work and it's ability to suck away every hour of your life...fun right?

If you decide to download the file is pretty big so I have made THIS VERSION AVAILIBLE

This piece leaves a strong message to the viewer by using the overall layout of the pictures as well as drawing attention to specific parts of it, such as the drop (It seems more like a tear to me), the tree, the sky, and more the center part of the piece in general. The style fits well for the piece, it's realistic yet cartoonish, fitting the reality of the piece with the unrealistic style of the overall picture. Overall, it's another beautiful piece that you should feel proud of, and I really don't care if there aren't any ponies, it's beautiful as it is! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

that excellent image which you did, the truth I really like the effect of heat and cold that gave this work of art, the bear the top detailing. Although I have doubts if it's water or ice that is at the top of the tree, since the issue I guess is environmental pollution affecting the planet. The lower part of the image is really very detailed and explains by itself alone.

But in the end the contrast that you did and the message you want to leave this great image. You can appreciate the sentiment and dedication that you put on each of your other masterpieces.

I know that you might never get this... but I have to say, this... this is so beautiful, and yet so sad. The transition from the moonlit sky and the icy tree, down towards the scars at the base, the smog, the tar and the flames, really is wonderful. This is such a wonderful and beautiful piece.

1) I love this work.

2) I think you're a little off on the global warming thing (a swindle if ever there was one), but other than that your AN is spot on.

Very interesting contrast and I like the message behind this, a profoundly alarming issue regarding humanity's impact on the survival of the ecosystem.

pollution is a big problem but there are people moving in the right direction try looking up solar roadways, it could solve quite a few problems. very nice pic btw.

This is quite exquisite. From the deep meanings of truth behind the symbilism, to the pure abstract-y-ness of the art itself. This is awe-inspiring. ^_^

I'm doing an A level Art & Design course currently! It has pretty much a little bit of everything so it's a really general course.

Whoa, I really like this metaphor.

Humanity's progress being depicted by smog, sewage, and cities around the tree base is really fitting. Fire in the background distance adds to the ambience of destruction, as do the fire embers and smog on the tree in that upwards spiral shape. The canopy I can see is a depiction of the polar ice cap(s), seeing as it has birds, melting icicles, and a Polar Bear at the very top.

Speaking of which, the polar bear being surrounded clouds and by the last of a clear night sky adds a touch of pain and somberness to it, and making the polar bear glow like the moon adds to that as well, as if he was the last of his species fading away. The lone "tear" falling on the center of the tree just exacerbates it.

I enjoy works that say something, and you really outdid yourself with this one, in spades.
