G3 ponies are a blank slate character-wise, which is why it's so fun to invent backstories for them. Here we have Garden Glade (gender-swapped; G3 needs male ponies!), his wife Rainbow Sunrise, and their teenage daughter Gardenia Glow.

I imagined Garden Glade as a kinda nerdy guy. He comes from a family of gardeners, but he never felt like he wanted to garden. He put a lot of pressure on himself to blend in with his family, until his grandpa told him to relax and find his own way. He found that he really enjoyed wood carving and proceeded to make gardening tools for his family and for others.

Garden Glade met Rainbow Sunrise when she crashed into him one day in their teenage years. Looking back on it, Garden Glade claims it was love at first sight, while Rainbow Sunrise feels that it was more embarrassing than emotional. Rainbow Sunrise is a pegasus that hailed from Butterfly Island when her family abruptly moved to Ponyville. She loves to do active things and is a bit impulsive and ditzy in her decisions. Despite being very different, Garden Glade and Rainbow Sunrise became fast friends. Glade gets nervous about Sunrise's recklessness, and tries to keep her in check.

They got married and had a foal: Gardenia Glow. She's now a teen who's still trying to find her place in the world, but for now she's cool with being with her family. She's interested in fashion and gardening, but loves to try new things. The one thing she gets frustrated about is her father's overprotectiveness.
