I was looking at this set of floral bookmarks I drew 6 years ago with Prisma markers ([link] ), and wanted to do a more updated edition of the floral series in art nouveau style. So here is the first to the set, "Rose."

Beautiful piece! I love the many colours on her skin, and her hair. It really lends movement and interest to the drawing.

Lovely candy coloured sweetness, I love the lettering (& the skin tones, & the hair, & the flow, & the whole caboodle in general) ^^

Very beautiful! I like the sober color scheme you've used, it enhaces her face and gives a calm sensation (something hard when you use a powerful color like red!). I also like how you play with the typography, curves of the hair... the combination of red lines and light green dots in the background is unusual for Art Nouveau (but well managed here!) and gives to your illustration a fresh and original look

thank you! I'm glad you like the piece. I was debating whether this should be considered art nouveau. There are obvious aspects in the drawing, but it has a more contemporary pop-art feel (with the background). But then again, what's the harm in breaking the tradition a little.

You're welcome!
Well, Art Nouveau was a very heterogeneous artistic movement, there's no a defined style with strict features. The main purpose of the movement was to break with the tradition, mixing some classical elements with modern ones (like nature references mixed with industrial or contemporary ways of life). They also defended the value of the 'minor arts' and impulsed the use of typography in their works, just as you have done here
And the background have, as you've said, that pop-art feeling but I think that it fits with the willing of reflect the conemporary tastes from Art Nouveau. So, again, let me say you how beautiful and great is this illustration!

And forgive me for the looong reply. I study Art History and I can't avoid to talk and talk about the artistic movements I like xDD
