I've never seen this before except on the water. It's hard for me to tell from the picture, but I would guess that a sizeable kite pulling someone on ice would generate a lot of speed. I can see snow, too, so I don't know. Do these people go fast? Like 30-40 KPH or what?

Well you know, up here we have snow about 6-7 months of the year, so if we don't get creative it's gonna get really boring hahaha.
Yea, those are big kites and the speeds you can reach are nerv wrecking.
When I was a kid, I had a sled with skates in each corner and a sail.
I could reach 50 mph in that one, easy. It was crazy fun, and a bit dangerous too I guess hehe.
