Hi there! Saw you asking for a critique. Well, I can't judge too much since it's lineart so I can't say anything about shading, light sources, coloring, etc. I do like this thing's design. Very neat. Looks like it's a kind of nature-themed dragon like creature? Well it sure is interesting. And yeah, man, if you have the kind of patience and willpower necessary for making comics, I think you should. Anyway, onto actual advice. First off, I'd suggest changing the hair that's in the ponytail. (Or mane, I suppose?) From the angle it's at, it looks like its defying gravity to curl to the left side like that. I know you probably wanted to show it off, however, since you wanted the creature to have it and otherwise no one could see it if it behaved according to gravity. My advice, sine I assume you do want to show it off, is to make it draped over the shoulder. That way you could show everyone it and it would adhere to gravity. So yeah, just put it before that line you drew for the shoulder. Also, you could show a bit of the spike (like on the one on the right) to show the hair is tucked behind the spike. Anyway, also with that hair, I might smooth out those bits of it where it puffs out after the hair tie so they are limp with gravity like real hair as well.Anyway! Also, I might adjust the feet a little. The front ones don't seem to be resting on the same plane. The one on the left is a bit higher up. Easy fix though! Also, do the back feet have 2 toes? If not, maybe you'd see a bit of a toe on the foot on the left? Not sure. Besides, you might have intended for two! Um, other than that.... Let's see... I am a little confused about that thing between its legs, is that genitalia? Too funny if it is. Not really a critique, though, just curious about what it actually is since this design is really interesting to look at. Um, my last advice might be about the tail. I assume those circles are bumps. I don't know, this depends on what you're going for. I understand why you put them there, it works well visually. Just a piece of advice, if you want them to be on the top of the tail and not the underside, (like spikes on dragons usually) you might want to twist them about to show how the tail twists so people can tell which is the underside of the tail and which is the top. Right now, though it works visually, if you were consistent and had this guy stretch out his tail relaxed behind him, it looks like the bumps would be on the side, the top, and the bottom? Also you might want to adjust it when you have the creature sitting on a plane, as it looks to be below the sitting body. Well, that's it on my advice! It's a cool creature. What colors were you thinking? It could be so many... Anyway, thanks for letting me give you advice! I hope it helps you out. Anyway have fun and have a nice day.

wow thank you so much for taking the time to give it such a good critique!!!!! I really appreciate your time and effort to give feed back and your advice totally helps! I know what you mean about the mane, hair isn't my strong point at the moment and I've always been working on getting it to look more realistic as far as hair goes, and the weight of it. So yes, having it rest on his shoulder is a great idea! Also I didn't wanna draw his dick or anything so I just put a little scoop looking line there in place, lol. and now it ended up looking kinda funny! facepalm. I also kinda ran out of room when inking in his front paws so that's why they look kinda floaty. I should draw a straight line under the next creature I do to make sure the paws/hooves/ etc. are all on the same horizon line. Always something I forget!! As for the bumps think of the circles as tattoos, like part of his skin haha. But bumps would be cool too! I might do that with the next one!
Thank you thank you again It was amazing to hear back from someone about this piece! yay!Β
Best wishes and happy art making!Β
