I like this one alot. I like the lighting, becuase the shadows fall across most of her face, and only her lips really show. Also the way her clothing is arranged gives me an impression of being tied up or constarined, because of the starps and low amount of detail. Overall it is a very effective and powerful photograph.

This is so bold, it's fantastic.
I think it fits the title really well that so little of her is showing. I believe she is the object of the obsession, and when obsessed its not necessarily the person you're obsessed about, maybe just the thought of this girl, or the thoguht of you two being together.
The way she poses with her arms, shows vulnerability, I think, but yet also a strong woman, willing to do anything, but nothing she doesn't want herself - which again leads to the obsession. In this fantasy where shes the object, she is just as obsessed with you as you as you are with her.
The bold contrasts, I think, shows the strength of this obsession and the feelings involved.

There are so many things right about this photograph I don't even know where to start. The contrast between the smooth texture of the ribbons verses the chaotic, gritty-in-a-good-way hair. The contrast of the picture itself, with the blacks just black enough, and the shadows across her face both stylish and disturbing simultaneously. Perhaps it is just me, but I do like the composition of the clenched right fist (or is it left? I'm almost positive it's right...) as compared to the ribbons. The lines between her fingers are echoed by the lines of the ribbons across her chest, which gave me the impressions that the ribbons looked almost like a hand, holding her torso - which is an interesting mental image aesthetically and thematically speaking.
I cannot stress enough how well the shadows on the face work. By obscuring her eyes it's like you are cutting off every mode of expression she has, and it does add an air of morbidity that is only enhanced by the nature of the shot. And while I do worry a bit about this Mariana being so unnaturally thin in appearance, the frailty it lends to this picture is not out of place. It's almost mummy-like, how skeletal and pale her arms and torso are, and being wrapped in ribbons doesn't hurt.
There are so many more things. The vertical strip of black that gives an imbalance to the composition, the curve of her hips which gives her body an almost J-like shape, and the indescribable *feeling* of this piece. I'm afraid to try to put it into words, because I know I'd only mess it up.
This is one of the best photos I've seen in years - a thousand compliments. You deserved the Daily Deviation ten times over.

i like the intesity of emotion of this photo. The blacks and whites make it very contrastable to the complexity of human emotions. The model is very well posed and both photographer and model capture the mood and message very well. great job!!!

I really like that you made this black and white. It gives it a more dramatic look to it. Also I like how they hair covers most of the face, nice touch. The lips look wonderful, because give us a feeling of scared. I really do think this is a great shot of the subject.

Wow. That's amazing, you deserve DD. Congrats and good luck with everything to come! As for me, I like the way her hair is all tuffed out like that, its interesting and something I don't often see! The lighting is uber amazing and the overall impression seems like one from a dark graphic novel, something like the Crow.
