From a series of tree sketches I made in February, on battered old paper primed with wallpaint, and the only landscape format in the set.
Playing with the idea of an enormmous tree alone in the landscape, the story here is that the tree actually died sometime ago, but life is still sprouting from it anew. Maybe it's spring? I really like how gnarly the trunk turned out here.
