Jennifer.
This is a really very nice composition. Your use of the fulcrum perspective gives your painting very nice balance, unity and hold the viewer's eye within the painted surface.
Great use of the repeating curve forms to also add unity to the painting.
The paths from the left hand bottom I feel are a wonderful eye lead and draw the viewer into the painting. Excellent choice of a very harmonious color pallet.
Thank you so much for submitting Pilgrimage to the group's gallery and sharing it with the members.

And thank you again for such an in-depth look at it, it's much appreciated.
The term "speedpainting" is pretty overused and often wrongly applied so I'm trying to get used to calling these quick works colour sketches instead. It's great how much one can learn from just throwing something on canvas quickly.

Thanks! It's what I've been focusing on lately. Well, that and detail distribution. This piece is one of my favourites from this streak of speedpaintings; it has dappled light, and who doesn't love dappled light?

Yes, I'm a bit behind on tutorials anyway, time to catch up.
I normally use a mix of Photoshop CS5 and Painter 2016, with smaller software for special needs like fractals or wood paneling.
Dappled light is when light falls through a broken covering, like foliage. It's what makes this magical look.

Maybe they DO have icecream in there. Wisdom flavour. Would certainly explain why they'd go there, it seems fairly remote.
Thanks!
