Tattoos are an integral part of fantasy, as is war paint for Indians and tribal elves. It's not even hard to do. As always, I would love to see your works if you use this Tiny Tip to create anything!

"Ranarh's tiny tips" is a collection of iddy-biddy tutorials, each containing small bites of advice anyone can chew, aimed at beginner's level artists. They are not software-dependent. If there's a problem you have, something you feel someone should finally explain, or are just curious what I have to say on a particular artistic issue, feel free to tell me.

You'll find the whole Tiny Tips Collection, plus some full-grown walkthroughs in my tutorial section .

Thanks! It's not as hard as people think, although I have gotten comments that I should have included how to use warp tools.

You're welcome! I've had comments that people would've liked to know more about using warp tools - what do you think?

I'll try. There's not much to the warp tool though, basically switch it on and pull but I suppose we can streamline the trial-and-error process a little.

I love your tutorial! Odd question, what's the name of the font you used?

This should be Poseidon (comes with GIMP, I think). Thanks!

Very nice! its little details like this that can help sell a picture(s) fantasy world even if the actor does not want to have paint on them or was actually in another work you did but the pose still works for another project.

Ranarh In reply to sillentassault [2011-06-02 13:52:15 +0000 UTC]

Thank you

Although, for very complex tattoos it might actually be easier to talk your model into having some felt pen on.

Wie meinst du das "make sure the lighting of the picture and your painting don't mathc exactly"? O_O

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ranarh In reply to GiovyLoCa [2011-06-01 18:41:05 +0000 UTC]

GiovyLoCa In reply to Ranarh [2011-06-01 20:00:26 +0000 UTC]

Ach so, jetzt verstehe ich das. Danke!
