Description
The Winged Dragon of Ra.The God of Light and Sun. Of Life.
Everything Malik ever wanted.
It took me 10 years to get that. Blame the German dub for it.
This is my first picture of a monster and the only image which plopped inside my head this morning when I had been watching YuGiOh for almost 3 days straight. I finally got to understood the characters, their strategy, their motivation.. I felt touched by Malik's background story, so I decided to give it a try.
I'm very proud how the Dragon turned out, since I had only my card and a few images for reference. Malik I drew by heart.
I think the image speaks for itself.
Total time:
Drawing: 2 hours.
Outlines: 1 hour.
Colouring: 3 hours.
Done with Koh-i-Noor watercolour pencils.
BGM: Lindsey Stirling- Shadows.

Oh wow. This is just too beautiful. Watercolor pencils. I haven't used those in 15 years, since I was five. I just remember owning two of them and not really knowing how to use them. I should try using them again, or rather, for the fest time ever lol. I forgot those even existed. This is such a beautiful golden glow. It looks like very soft and smooth metal, and Marik just looks awesome as per the norm. Excellent job on his bracelets by the way, you can really see the glow of the light and the shadows. Resembles shiny metal perfectly! You are one awesome artist.

Thank you for the warm praise of the golden colour, I have finally figured out how to get it on paper. I'm surprised the scanner got them so perfect! But it takes a lot of time and testing, Ra on some spots is made of up to 4 layers colour..
I'm not so happy with how Marik turned out, but I'm happy because I drew him by heart, with only a very few references.
I'm very glad you like the picture.. and now on to Kaiba and his Blue Eyes!

.....................my heart just exploded. Of pure happiness. I bleepity blopping love Kaiba!!!! LOVE HIM!!!! *screams so loud my mom thinks I saw another spider* Kaiba was always my favorite. Always. Who doesn't love an unfeeling jerk of a millionaire? Haha. Everytime Seto smiles, a puppy dies. Mwahahahaha! Poor puppies. Annnnyyywayyyy....*cough cough* Marik was a very close second. My brother had a shirt with Marik on it and was going to get rid of it. Hijacked. I still have it. I feel happy wearing it haha. Marik is amazing on so many levels. He's hilarious in the abridged, so adorable and poor baby! in the original anime, and evil Marik...well he's...creepy. It's always good for a laugh. Ya he sure had to go through some crap in his childhood.
You did very excellent from your mind. I always forget at least one important detail to my characters, no matter how much I think I have them memorized. The tattoos are awesome too by the way.

I don't really get Kaiba, I must say. I know his background and everything, but he sure is a heartless jerk, you're absolutely right. But then, the series often leave so many gaps and errors where you ask yourself: Why the hell?!
And I absolutely love LK's abridged series! He did such a great job on all those characters, got their flaws out and just made absolute fun of all the errors in the plot. He's a very talented man!
As for the creepy Alter Ego, I've had many an interesting discussion with a fellow fan about that. She studied psychology and we got really interesting insights in that boy's mind. I've always loved his ability to stay strogn even when going through hard times. That's why I almost cried when he couldn't go on anymore and wanted to kill himself.. (just think of all those sad fans!)
I want that T-Shirt! Would you kindly give it to me now?
By the way, I took references for the tattoo, I can never memorize the spots for the God monsters on his back. Everytime yo have to draw them it drives you mad..

Lol drives you mad. Well still, kudos for the rest of him being from heart. I took psychology. Se taught us that hypnotism is just suggestion and you can only be hypnotized if you want to be. I volunteered shortly after at an FFA meeting to go onstage for a hypnotist. I told myself I wouldn't get hypnotized so..I didn't. And got kicked off the stage lol. There was a couple others he kicked off too, so I grabbed this one girl's hand and we walked off together. It was crazy cool though. I was super embarrased and frozen in place from it and she was walking past and I looked up at her and our hands both went out at the same time and we walked off hand in hand then back to our respective seats. But it was like this moment if cosmic mutual understanding and without question she was like "I got your back". Seriously cool. LK is indeed a genius. I quote him at least three times a day and my family's like ".........what?" I don't get Seto either. But he's hot. That's about it. I hate how Mokuba had to finally yell at him to stop being a jerk. Seriously Seto, that's pathetic! You hurt our baby Mokie! "Shutup Moluba". Also, have to say "I have a dragon fetish and sound like Brock from pokemon!" Aha XD

Hahahah... "Because shutup" that's my favourite. I always quote somebody, be it from Anime, a book or a movie I liked. Everybody always ask me how I can remember all those lines.
As for Seto, my mother-in-law is a huge fan. If I can really get my ass around drawing the Blue Eyes, she'll get it as a birthday present for sure!

....*slowly gasps larger and larger, jaw drops* somebody understands! I do that too. I can quote a LOT of movies, shows, parodies, songs, books, etc. "because shutup" does make my list of top ten. "Because shutup", "shutup Mokuba", "screw the rules I have money", "duel me you...weird..burn victim cyborg thing", "grabbin a pipe, come at me bro!" "Good thing I'm Seto Kaiba, or that might have actually hurt me", "this door is a bleach!" (I prefer to pretend it doesn't cuss.. >.>), "that was a good hug", and of course the ever wonderful, "oh my God a giant rock!" The last being...everytime Yami (sometimes Yugi) teases Seto. "At least I'm not adopted." "Oh look at me, I'm Seto Kaiba. I have a dragon fetish and sound like Brock from pokemon." "Hey Seto did you lose yet? I know how much you hate losing!" I'm sure she'd love that! I wish I could share that with my family. My sister only likes one anime and of course it has to be the character I don't prefer..
