Description
Harley slunk back to the abandoned junkyard he and Gespenst called home. He managed to clean up the cuts he had in the river (they had mostly closed up already by the time he got there) and tried his best to hide the bruises with his bandanna, but it was no use. Ges would see he was in a scuffle again and wouldn't be happy with him. He was always disappointed when Harley ended up hurting others for food or chasing them out of their junkyard like some sort of guard-boo. More so he was beat up pretty bad this time, having fought with several kids without a scratch until he met his match in a red freak of a kid with huge claws . Then again was it really right to call that kid a freak when he sported such freakish weapons too?

Harley settled down under the tin roof of their lean-to and looked around. Ges was probably off somewhere for the day and would be back later, right? It had been a while since they had seen each other, being separated by the deelagun months ago, but there was no doubt in his mind that Gespenst was alive and well. Just... busy somewhere.

Hours passed as Harley napped in the shade. He got some sleep, but his stomach slowly tied itself into knots as he waited. A sudden rustle in the bushes brought his attention up.

A familiar figure passed through the "gate" of their little home. A bit bigger than Harley remembered and a little better fed, but that was Gespenst alright. Harley's sigh of relief caught in his throat as he saw an odd new feature on the tail end of his friend though... A hand. The kind of freakish thing he had seen pop up at the nook time and time again, the kind of freakish mutations he had been biting and scratching up kids for.

Harley saw Gespenst's smiling face, happy to finally see him again... but he could only scowl. The evidence of his scuffles was obvious, there was no hiding it. He would need to tell Ges eventually how it happened, and how he beat up all those freaks at the nook... what would he think of Harley then?

2020 Edit: It was supposed to be a night scene but when I looked at it for requirements it seemed a little too ambiguous so it gets a bit of a glowup in lighting and bg to be sure it will count.
