THIS
WAS ORIGINALLY JUST A DOODLE
I WAS GOING TO DRAW JUST NEPETA IN A DIFFERENT OUTFIT
AND THEN I WAS GOING TO DRAW NEPETA WITH TEREZI
BUT THEN THINGS HAPPENED WITH THE POSE
AND I FIGURED IT WOULD WORK BETTER WITH EQUIUS
AND THEN I STOLEFOUND SOME COLORED PENCILS
ALTHOUGH
BROWN WAS NOT A COLOR I HAD AT THE TIME I WAS COLORING NEPETA'S PANTS
HENCE THE HORRID DISPLAY OF COLOR BLENDING
SO
I WENT OUT AND GOT ME A BROWN PENCIL
AND ALSO PURPLE BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE THAT, EITHER
AND THEN I TURNED THIS INTO SOMETHING THAT TOOK WAY TOO MUCH TIME
AND THEN I DECIDED TO BE REALLY INTELLIGENT AND LET IT BE IN MY NOTEBOOK FOR A FEW DAYS BEFORE SCANNING IT

I honestly have no idea. XD I just grabbed a bunch of colors from a random pile I found on the counter. XD

Well, I figure anyone with knowledge about color should be able to get what they're looking for with any type of pencil, not just the fancy labeled ones. XD

Well, if you want to try something for practice, I would suggest (with these pencils, anyway) starting with the lighting first (such as where lights from the lantern and the sky would show up on Equius and Nepeta here) and then go with the colors on the characters. Also, start lightly on everything you do. It's easy to go darker if you need to, but you should be cautious about it if you're not sure about exactly what shade you need.

I have some of those lovely pencils you used to always use in Primary school, the ones that break when they get too sharp. I'm practising with those XD Hoorraaaay

You know, it's actually easier to get them really sharp and sturdy if you sharpen them at a different angle (so the tip is still sharp, but it's not as long/thin).

Yeah I've tried that! Normally works pretty well! My hand bag has turned into a pencil case now. I just carry all my sketching stuff around with me these days XD
