damn this give me flashbacks. you made me want to put on the movie and i am picturing the video for the cars song magic in my head. i can imagine those lovely women in their 80's swimsuits in the pool as the song was blasting and i still say a-ko is sexy and cute. ah my dream babe. oh and you got aerith in your icon or avatar. thanks for the costumes babe. your friends mandy and elizabeth nailed the costumes. another old school anime i recommend is mega zone 23. so deliciously retro i will make this a cult movie night.

you betcha! the classics beat the stupid remakes any day but still be in the lookout for the new live action ghost in the shell movie but sad to say it will be pg 13. meh i will stick to my 2 copies of the anime and i keep it in safe mint condition and i got the manga for twenty some dollars! how cool is that and will you dress up as kusanagi?

I remember watching this anime back in the late 90s and perking and eyebrow at the strange competition the two girls are having over the companionship of C-Ko. Kept wondering, "Are they or aren't they?". And if they are, why can't A-Ko and B-Ko just have a rendezvous of their own? Probably because then, it would become a very DIFFERENT kind of anime.
I love all of these costumes. They're all very cute, but the edge will always go to B-Ko.

It would certainly explain the outtakes. I've seen them. They're actually on the VHS version that Central Park Media put out back in the 90s. They might be on the DVD version as well, but I don't remember. I always wondered why those were cut from the movie and yet still appeared on the tape AFTER the movie. I guess now I know.

The way I've heard it was that it was originally intended to be that very different type of anime, but that the staff had so much fun working it as a parody, they just went with it instead of the original hentai plot. I seem to remember some 'escaped' clips of A-ko's blouse being semi-transparent as she was dressing in the morning, and a few more explicit frames that had been cut.

Project A-ko is one of my favorites! It's good to see people cosplaying from it... if I saw a group like this in real life I'd be so excited.
