Marchuns are small, semi aquatic omnivores with stocky, otter-like bodies and paddle-like wings. They have short, rounded ears, paws with four webbed toes and retractable claws, and a long, muscular tail with a small dorsal fin on the base. They have short, canine-like teeth, and a forked tongue. They can be both quadrupedal or bipedal depending on situation or personal preference, and they live to be 50-70 years old. Certain patterns on their skin are bioluminescent, and can be triggered at will or when using magic.

Marchuns are incredibly playful, fun-loving, and curious. If trouble exists, a Marchun will know exactly how to get into it. Despite their fun-loving nature, they will protect their loved ones at any cost.

Marchuns are powerful magic users, and can control earth, fire, water, weather, light, spirit, and life (although they can only use one type)
