Description For the "art war" with

Pictured here are the two characters that will be shown the defense of Unus Solum. Kennewick Von Lark, a Captain in the Arcean Marines and Archer Europa of Corinth. They never actually meet... but... anywho.

So, for jailgurdnegative, some info.

Marines are a multipurpose force. Depending on the size of an airship and the mission, there can be up to 500 soldiers. Or, on a smaller ship like a Corvette or Schooner, their may be only one or two. They usually just defend ships from boarding, but in recent years, since the range of airship battles has grown to 25 miles on average, that isn't usually a problem. They are now used to go behind enemy lines to create pockets so that regular troops can advance. They often wear heavy clothing since airships operate high in the air where temperatures often hover between 10 degrees Celsius in the south, and -40 in the north and south. So, staying warm is essential. Sucks when they start fighting in warm areas of course

Kennewick is a Leftenant, son of the famous Captain Devran. All of this life he has been en route to getting his own airship in the Arcean Navy, starting with a corvette, ultimately moving to an air fortress. All he has to do is go a few years in the Marines. Suggesting he survives the coming months... much less the ensuing years. He is armed with the venerable Sagitta 2 revolving rifle.

Archer Europa is just another young Corinthian stuck in national service before going on to University. She's not particularly interested in fighting, and really just can't wait to move on with her life. That is until motivation hits her... She is armed with the powerful, Hoffnung built, Botond 129 Automatic.

No line breakers here unfortunately. I'll show them at some point...

Shirudo will be up soon...

Essentially, two artists draw two different perspectives on a war, with the idea of making a good story in mind.

The gun i swell drawn, a little wonky, but that's ok, the outfits are the winner here, very nice detail and interesting poses, the characters however, something about them.

Yeah. Problem when you get too focused on one specific detail of a technical draw. Ends up a bit off from the rest. Fun fact, it's based off of an Australian modification of the Lee Enfield rifle.

Something about the characters

Exactly, i know the feeling all too well.

then again, I take fucking ages whenever I draw anything

It looked kinda like an AK (Maybe I'm more blind than I thought)
and yea, i'm not sure what it is, but something about them bugs me.

Holy fuck, that's one odd looking firearm.

and now that I think of it, I can't see the problem either :/
maybe it's just your style I have to get used to, sometimes I mix you and Kozloff up, sorry.

Only a hundred or so left in the world after the armoury where most of the reserves were kept burned down in the 60's.

Yeah. Kozloff is a big influence. He's probably the only reason I can draw people decently. But we aren't the same

woot, good job, ravajava!! Those two are quite the opposite, but I sense a coming relationship between the two. hahaha.

Ravajava In reply to jailgurdnegative [2012-07-04 00:34:13 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Yeah, I know. Wanted them to be different people. Originally I had them arguing each other about how to approach things all the time, but then when I actually developed a story for this, it was best that they didn't actually meet. Or, at least not until later.

jailgurdnegative In reply to Ravajava [2012-07-04 01:34:51 +0000 UTC]

not until much later. hehehe,
one last thing;
They're enemies or allies in you story? Corinth was, uhm an ally of Arcean? I got their history all jumbled up now.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ravajava In reply to jailgurdnegative [2012-07-04 01:52:52 +0000 UTC]

Corinth and Arcea sort of have a UK US relationship. They used to hate each other when Corinth rebelled, but circumstance made them allies, and they've been going strong ever since. At this point, there culture and language has blended into one. Enshaw's the third wheel on that relationship. Hoffnung and Arcea have been allies for almost a thousand years, so Corinth and Enshaw are allies with them as well. South Arcea, North and South Ghurkka, Norvest and the Shirudo are the outsiders.

Albeit, South Arcea gets along with the Hoffnung and Enshaw, even though they still hate Arcea, while Both Ghurkka's and get along with Corinth even though they still hate the Hoffnung.

Nordvest and the Shirudo, who are in perpetual war with each other, also don't play well with others. Too religiously devout, proud and xenophobic.

Nice, nice... All is in order. Here's to hoping the Shirudo would think of my men as their deities.

So to get to their good side we must also kick Nordvest butt?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ravajava In reply to jailgurdnegative [2012-07-04 14:30:23 +0000 UTC]

It's very possible

Yep. That's what I was thinking would happen. Then when all the refugees begin rushing the border between Corinth and Nordvest, Archer would be introduced. In the meantime, Shirudo forced will start attacking the islands between Shirudo and Enshaw, and that's when Kennewick will be introduced.
