I always took the public's (tumblr's) unfaltering NEED to refer to him as female as a lingering resentment that Link WASN'T female in this game, as Nintendo sort of (not really) hinted at. This misuse and convenience of gender terms is ironically preoblematic in itself, but I have to agree that it would be neat to see a female Link, or one where gender was optional and the story differed a bit according to how either gender is treated in Hyrule. Also, here's to hoping that Link is customizable to some extent in this game and that MAYBE he can haves something similar to the braid you've given him.

Honestly, because of I like to believe that OOT Link after the time leap has some seriously flowing tresses hidden under his hat, though people are like, he doesn't... How do you sleep for 7 years and your hair doesn't grow an inch?
