I really didn't like that episode because of what Double-D had to through, with has to do with my greatest fear.

GASP. So beautiful.
Entering the animating field, I'm so drawn to initial thumbnails and storyboards of great work. They're just... so cool to look at! Knowing that someday, I'LL be doing the same thing!
Gawd, it makes me so excited.
Anyways, yeah, as AnimatEd said, that visual gag really sold that moment. That and when Edd's eyes enlarged with that "blimp" sound. Those were PERFECT. I always appreciated the outlandish yet genius useage of sound in this cartoon.
Anyways... so cool. ^^

Man I felt so bad for Ed during this scene. D: I would totally give him a hug if I could, and if he actually took a bath. XD;

Ah, this is from my favorite scene of the episode. C:
Part of why "Fistful of Ed" is so powerful is that it shows different sides of more than one character. Despite it being an Edd-heavy episode, everyone's involved emotionally, and it stretches the limits of cartoony nonsense into a dimension of genuine and powerful pain.
A cartoon like this needs far more recognition for it's excelling at the art. XP
I love the drawings, your scenes pack such a punch. Great job to all of ya. 8D

I think that was the most effective part of the episode. I hope that doesn't sound like I'm diminishing your work, because I know you've said in the past that you have the most trouble with Ed, but I think KNOWING that he's difficult for you added to the emotion of it. All the other emotional stuff was done well too, but this was the perfect mix of a visual gag and a serious moment, and somehow, the gag ended up making this crushing moment for Ed even more real. And I guess it also catches you a little more off guard to see Ed SERIOUSLY upset about something than it does Edd.
I like how I recognized this right away, even though it isn't quite the same as the final drawing. XD

No, no.. it doesn't sound diminishing. It sounds like a compliment. XD I managed to get a few good Eds out at least. LoL
Also, I know what you mean about the gag/serious moment combo. I guess its just such a sheer contrast that it forces the moment to stand out. I've seen them in the show before and it was great to actually come up with one of my own.

Ahkay, it felt a little wrong to be complimenting Ed when Edd was the star of the episode in a lot of ways. XD
I guess adding a joke kept it from feeling like a different show? I don't know if it's possible, but perhaps the joke was necessary to remind us about all the things we love about the characters, so it means more to us to see them broken? If it seems like I'm looking too much into this, I don't mean this in a "why did you write it" way, I'm just trying to figure out why exactly it worked so well... xD I MUST HARNESS THIS POWER OVER THE AUDIENCE.
