I use Poser Pro 2012 to render out the scene from a 3D image to a 2D one. Then I use Paint Shop Pro X4 for post work.

Is it a free program? I am so interested in trying to make a better 3d girl than imvu. ^^ they just look so damn awesome!

The version I use is not free. And unfortunately, there isn't a free version of Poser, but there is a more affordable lite version - Poser Debut .
If you really want free, you can try Daz Studio . I've never used it, but it's similar to Poser in that it's a 3D program. You can read and compare the two and choose which is more suited for you.

how much is the one you use? i can probably afford it. i love it sooooo much. ^^

The one I use can be found here [link] It's kind of a hefty price tag at $499.99 outright. I started with version 6 years ago (got it for a couple hundred on Amazon.com), and so have been getting the cheaper upgrading prices ever since. Plus I wait for sales.
You know...just for fun, I checked Amazon.com. They actually have Poser Pro 2012 at almost half the price listed above! [link]
Poser 9 is there, too, for about $70. Poser 9 came out at the same time as Pro 2012, but doesn't have as many feature as the Pro version. [link]

that...is....so awesome!!! I tried downloading one last night, but the program won't run...so I'll just try something else. But I will probably get something like that eventually, but as of now, I will admire other people's work of 3d
