You're very welcome. It's a wonderful image - a critique was the least I could do as a thank-you for you sharing it and giving me an opportunity to see it - my 13yo daughter is a dancer - she used to do ballet - but got too tall - and enjoyed her rugby too much - so switched to contemporary a few years ago - she adores the picture too.

Awww, that's very nice to hear that your dancing daughter loves the picture too! For her information Tetyana in the picture is 5'11", so maybe your daughter is not too tall!

Actually, looking at the female dancer, I would say it appears as if she has just as much muscle as the male.Β So, this was probably a toss-up for posing position Β

This reminds me of a particular spot in one of my favorite renditions of The Nutcracker Suite.
The rendition was done in the, I think, mid-1980s by a ballet from the Pacific Northwest. In fact, Maurice Sendak did the art, and it's absolutely stunning. Really the only reason I like that movie, tbh.

HOWEVER! There is a bit where an older Clara dances with the Nutcracker Prince...and the camera literally goes TO HIS ASS. And it stays there for almost the entire scene. Granted, he has a mighty fine ass, but still. GRATUITOUS ASS SHOT.
Anyway, I thought this was a beautiful photo, and I really did, in fact, like this guy's ass. :3

I love that you've reversed the standard gender roles for this kind of shot, highlighting her strength and his grace (though obviously they each have an abundance of both). Great work.

ballet dancers always look so powerful, yet in control and very graceful to watch.
