Description REVISED 2012/07/27 ( the old version was REALLY bugging me)

Something new and ONLY for the Hell of it. I again delved into using photo references as a base for her pose and figure which I don't do often.
Also with this image I retire my trusty old Genius pen tablet which has served we well over the years,(sort of) and upgrade to a shiny new Wacom Intuos4!! wahoo!!

awesome! there's a lot of cool details on this one.like the armguard for starters,the mana(i'm guessing) emanating from her eyes and then those face-plates on her bra.look like plates anyway.also can't go wrong with freckles

No, I go straight to colour after a sketch. grey scale is a good method but it bores the hell out of me.

yeah, don't worry, a Genius will do the trick. every thing in my gallery up to the last 2 images I've put up was with a Genuis tablet. I would just be very careful with the pen buttons. Mine fell off...twice.

I'm actually a "traditional" artist, so the Genius is going to be my introduction to the big, scary world of digital. My buttons better stay put!

My friend did almost the same, except with the new tablet he went and bought a small 27" screen a new massive desk, new office chair and some nice speakers.
