I tried drawing... but for some reason everything ends up looking better on pumpkins. I don't know why.

For most of my recent pumpkin carvings, including the ones I'm working on now, I actually use a metal nail file to carve the top layer of a pumpkin. It may take longer but it allows me to have precise cuts.

I completely agree with you! It would a lot more fitting to have him as a pet than the space hamster and fish.

I know, the great and powerful commander Shepard, has a pet fish! ..... Hamster... :S as cute as a hamster is, unless you can train it to bite the toes of enemies in their sleep itβs a bit pointless alas

See! There is so much they can do with one varren! The possibilities are endless. I would love to see Urz fighting for space on the bed against Garrus.
(Personally I would train the hamster in martial arts and throw it at my enemies like a ninja star. HAM-STAR ATTACK!)

How are you carving these? Are you basically just peeling the skin off?
It honestly does look like it's painted on. Any way you can post a picture of one of these with no candle burning in it, and under regular lighting? I would be interested in seeing it.

That is basically it! I carve an outline and take off the top layer. It helps keep the structure of the pumpkin more stable and able to last longer. I can send you a picture of it with no candle, you'll just have to give me a moment. ^_^

Nope, that is all carving. I only used a pen to sketch it up and then carved it.

Thank you! It did take some time. It took the least amount of time from all my other carvings but there is still at least 7 hours worth of work in this.
