This is massively sweet! I love to see them depicted with such muscular arms and solid wrists. There is very much an impression that the sword is an extension of his arm.

I'm exactly the same! Β I love how Eastman and Laird drew them originally like that. Β However, I also love the IDW look, where they look a lot more like teenagers. Β My hope is to one day get on that book so I'm always practicing trying to get a balance between the influence of the original comic and the new looks IDW have created.
Still... I'm toying with the idea of doing a fan comic, re-creating that first issue: muscular turtles and all the gritty violence!
