Story-behind Fallout: Indiana

Introduction and backstory

The Hoosier State was the 19th state admitted into the United States of America and was well known back in the pre-war era with a lot of farmland and beautiful landscape. Located on the south shores of Lake Michigan, just east of Chicago, the city's economy was dependent on the American steel industry. As a result of the Sino-American war, factories were operating at full capacity, and the city flourished. However, the heavy industry that had brought so much to the city would also be its downfall as the united state military made a deal with the owner and the company to help them built new super weapons to fight back the communist from the west.

The worker would end up working 24 hours a week with no break and barely even have any lunch breaks as the guard our order to shot anyone who tries to stop working, over 400 people have died from this. They did manage to make 100 prototypes to be shown to the president and the high general of the military but on October 23, 2077, the same day as they show the new prototype weapons, Nuclear warhead was detonated all over the united states by the Chinese killing thousands, The us reacted by firing their nuclear missile at the Chinese, but the damage has already been done.
As all the major cities in America were all obliterated in a couple of hours. Lucky for the American people, vault-tec have already built almost over 100 vaults built in Indiana. Those who were saved from the vaults would come to the realization that the vault was never meant to save anyone.

However, after the ashes of the nuclear fallout from the great war, there was some civilization and it was not the end as many people thoughts but rather the continuation of another war to come. What was left of the remaining government that did survive the war try to reorganize what was left in the midwest states? Two military factions that have survived from the ashes and forge the United State Remnants and the Enclave. The Enclave is a secretive political, scientific, and militaristic organization that is descended directly from members of the Pre-War United States government, and claims to be the legally-sanctioned continuation of the government, while also styling themselves and their overall demeanor as such. There even had the most advanced technology and weapons from the pre-war era, and are also well known to be the most ruthless tour the people in the wasteland, they will even shoot any travelers,or anyone that does want any trouble will be killed anyway. The reason why the enclave our like this is because they're an elitist organization said to be the remnant of the original American government. The only people worth living are the ones living in the Vaults and their people.

Long ago vault tec was funded by the U.S. government and, accordingly, the government had control over them. Ostensibly, they were intended to allow a selection of privileged United States citizens to survive the Great War. Secretly, however, a large part of the Vault Project had a far more sinister goal. The U.S. government's real plan to survive a nuclear war was simply to find another planet to live on after blowing up Earth. A spacecraft designed to ferry the human race to another planet was either under construction or ready to go before the War.

The plan was for the government to flee to the oil rig and then leave in a spaceship for another planet. For a long time after the Great War, the Enclave sat quietly in its oil rig, consolidating its military forces, working on gaining a technological edge over anyone on the mainland however they were stopped by a tribal known as the Chosen One who is the Great Grandson of the Vault Dwellers from Vault 13. 34 years after the oil rig destruction the remaining enclave went to the midwest to regroup with there midwest alias who were in a civil war with the USR (The United State Remnants) also in the mix of this bloody civil war were the brotherhood of steel of the Midwest.

The Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel operations base on small, versatile squads deployed to engage the enemy. Enemies like super mutants and now the enclave. The Brotherhood wants to stop the enclave to capture some old world techs that could be a threat to the people in the wasteland. With the help from the USR, they manage to work together gaining the enclave long enough that the enclave could not take it anymore and after 7 months of fight they finally surrender on July 4, 2277.

Since then the new midwest three was forged as they try to rebuild the old world and try to stop slavery factions like raider and super mutants, they went on fight bringing on freedom in old world views on democracy, One by one they will have these wars with the raiders, and mutants on slavers. Indiana was one of these states run by slavers, the line of the slavers and the USR gotten worse as a new tyrant warlord shows up and taken over the northern area in Indiana Ragin from Elkhart to Gary.

This warlord is named Vlad Attila, He was one of Caesar high ranking general he was also well known to be a military tactic and genius as he could outsmart his enemies with them not even knowing he was going to make him move. The NCR have trouble with him as he is responsible for almost the death over 10 billion NCR lives and 100 million more lives from the people from the New California wasteland. For a time he was unstoppable until something happens as he doesn't fully believe in caesar view on the wasteland and everyone should worship him like some kind of god.

Since the lost on Hoover dam and the death of Joshua Graham, He will challenge against Cassar even calling by his real name Edward Sallow, Cassar order his followers to put down Vlad for a blasphemy, However he will be the first person that defy Cassar and survive and his defiance will inspired others to follow his footstep and forging a new faction known only as “The Exile’s” Since that day Vlad and his exiles raided both NCR and legion resources cutting both across in the Mojave and the Southwest Commonwealth, Growing in strength as he then makes his way to the eastern area in the wasteland.

Gathering killers, mercenaries, and even super mutants to his side. Cassar had two targets in those years, the NCR, and Vlad as the legion almost got the NCR but Vlad they never came close, the whole damn caesar's legion couldn’t contain him at the height of the power, even after the death of Caesar and the second battle of Hoover dam and the defeated of Lanius by the hand of the Courier.

For over 7 years since his rise of power he has taken half of the northern territories of the Midwest Commonwealth and most of the northern half of Indiana, however, all that is about to change as someone new come in the mix and this someone will be the one to bring peace back in the Midwest Commonwealth.

And this is when the wonderer story begins.

This idea originated by my brother who is no longer working on this so instead i'm doing this project my self in his honor, the novel is still in writing production and my goal is to pitch this idea to Bethesda Softworks so i can see they would be alright of me to do a novel series base on this idea. I'll update you all on this in the near future, until then hope you can share this with others who love the fallout series.
