Description They can't flirt. They can't go to night clubs. They can't go online and subscribe in soul mate finding services. And even worse, they can't move. But they do have sex.

Flowers are the reproductive organs on superior plants and they have male and/or female organs. Male organs (anthera) release the pollen grain that will land on a receptive female organ (pistil), germinate and then fecundation occur. Different groups of plants evolved different strategies to promote this meeting. Those belonging to the family Poaceae (the same of rice, maize, sorghum, etc) produce large amounts of pollen that is dispersed by wind. Long and plumose pistils increase the likelihood that a grain will land.
