I also took Anders because he said not to.
And Merrill to spite the keeper because she was such a NICE girl.
Lo and behold, I find out that Justice apparently disapproves of adorable Dalish girls and they both took a massive rivalry hit.

Don't take it to heart, Merill. Justice disapproves of everything except terrorism.

Hahaha, this is 100% what I did. And, well. I really, really just wanted to see Justice again.

Me too! I liked Justice in Awakening. I was sad both he and Anders were so different. (Hence, torturing them both.)

Justice, or at least the one in Awakening, just happens to be my favorite video game character, ever. I am such a sucker for that type of character it's not even funny. I was so sad how things ended up in DA2.

I agree completely. I did see the whole possession thing as a blending of the two characters, though--Anders was completely selfish in DA:A, and in DA2 we see him wearing himself to the bone healing people for free, for example. I saw that as Justice's more kind influence instead of being the Anders side of things. And then Anders' anger and hatred, in turn, twisted Justice.
But really? I felt that the end result made both of them seem like neither. And was kind of bugged about it, even if I can make up excuses to tell myself. You're totally right about the love thing, for one--Kristoff's love for Aura was such a strong character point for the original justice, and since Anders didn't have any anti-love in his thoughts, why did Justice change in that way? Pfff.

I'm glad it's not just me pouting over the loss of beloved Awakenings characters. The merging was kind of a cool concept, though. Maybe if they try to go this route again, or continue this story elsewhere, it will be better executed.

My sole comfort for the way my game ended? Anders said that if I chose the way to end the game I did (lol look at my lame attempt to not spoil stuff), Justice would be free. I am, however delusionally, telling myself that this is what happened--pure, uncorrupted Justice again.
*lives in own little world cause that game was depressing*

In my playthrough, Anders admitted that he lied to me and there is no separating him and Justice, that they have melded. But all of the codex entries state that there is a distinct difference between the two, and since it's so obvious when Justice takes over, I still think they could be separated. If anyone could make it happen... it would be Flemmeth. DLC maybe?

roflmao everything I did was for the lulz. I took Anders, Aveline, and Merrill, and Merrill was immediately like OH HEY A DEMON LET'S BE BEST FRIENDS :D and Justice is like YOU RETARD >[

Bahahaha! So true. I took Fenris instead of Aveline first time through because he was equally unhappy about it.
Plus I wanted to see if his lyrium tattoos would explode.

this was the biggest plot hole ever!!!
i mean... didn't they explain in the first game that only mages can go into the fade?
unless the elves have some sort of magic trick they do to send people there.

Bahaha, yes when I'm not choosing my teams for science, I'm definitely choosing for comic relief. Strategy?? What is that?

Strategy? Ha!
I like taking Anders, Fenris and Merryl along sometimes just to hear them fighting about evil mages and blood magic in the background. Which is hilarious because I AM a blood mage. Apparently no one has noticed me slitting my wrists on the battlefield XD
On Merryl's last mirror quest they get SO bitchy with each other. I suggest taking Fenris and Anders along for the entertainment, if you haven't already done that part.

What I *really* missed during those scenes was:
Zevran: You know, Lady Captain, this might be easier for you if you weren't quite so... tense. Perhaps you should find a way to blow off a little steam before you approach your guardsman. Might I suggest... me?

Someone NEEDS to take this dialogue snippet to Bioware and blackmail them until the put it in the game.
It's great! Ah,do I miss that certain Antivan Crow...

They will all betray you but Anders. I took Fenris, also for science, and had I been given the choice Carver's Templar ass would have gone with me, too. FOR SCIENCE.

Carver ended up being a Grey Warden in my most recent play through, but I would have taken him if I could!

In my canon playthrough she was also the one who betrayed me. I thought it was fitting considering her Act 3 story!
