Description 2022

A little "touch chart" infographic, but not for a single person, but the whole Loop in general. In fact, it's a few "interesting facts" collected in one picture.

The locals communicate using not only the obvious talking with your mouth way, although that is naturally the most common option. Sometimes you can use hands, and sometimes you can't use voice - the touch talk originated specifically from such situations. Officially, the touch talk has no name, and it's not even a language, just actions that everyone universally understands. It is most often used by spies for obvious reasons. It can be used to tell the direction: if you imagine four arrows drawn on a person's back, then each shoulder will be for turning to the corresponding side, on the back of the head will be the "forward" and between the shoulder blades the "backwards." The same can also be communicated by holding the back of the neck -- then all directions are indicated by the pressure applied by one's hand. It's also a way to communicate that you are separating from the group, staying with the group, and that you are back.

To declare patronage, you put the palm of your hand on the person. It's quite complicated because the duration of patronage is usually measured intuitively. It ends after a certain "checkpoint," and what that "checkpoint" is depends greatly on the situation. Sometimes, to show that the patronage is continued, the defender shows an open hand, and clenches his fist when he no longer intends to defend - but not in all regions, and not always there is an opportunity to do so. In some situations, the hand is not removed as long as the defender is responsible for the protected, such as when the person is resting or sleeping.

Touching the leg is totally forbidden. The reaction varies from place to place: somewhere it is a sluggish disgust, and somewhere you can get knocked out for doing so, but absolutely everywhere it is not welcome. The expression, "you can't stretch your legs to him" is related to this tradition. A man who "can't be reached out to with your legs" is a crooked individual whose presence is annoying and makes one uncomfortable. If he is not watched properly, he may commit something filthy.
