This is my finished gift art for , of her dragon. Dracotic is neither male nor female; just likes to eat tasty things that bother it. X3I have spent the last 3 days on this sketch/drawing, and I am proud to announce the final version. At least, for now. When/if I ever get better at CS3 I hope to come back and do the things I wish I knew HOW to do.
Considering I seriously messed up on this piece and my first two hours of painting was on the same layer as the sketch, I am proud that through my struggle with CS3 I was able to adapt and... color with a new style. Where instead of being SUPPPPER effing frustrated with all my brush strokes, I made them the detail! For those who know me, my sketch work by hand is detail oriented, and not being able to do it (even with a brush size of !!!!1!!!! pixel) was a serious challenge of stepping outside of comfort. Still, I am so thankful it turned out so well.
This character belongs to , do not steal in any way, shape, or form, or both her and I will come and eat you. After playing with you. Like cats with a mouse.
To one of my dearest friends and greatest comrades, may this gift remind you of how wonderful you are, and may it inspire you to go further. Thank you, for being there when I was at my near worst, and again for welcoming me back when I started anew. You are the literal definition of friend.

This is gorgeous work, miss. c: For a new style of colouring it's exquisite, it's not easy to transition from painting under sketches to painting over them just started doing that and oh god it's difficult |C. I'm loving the shape of its head; it's rather pelican in appearance and I think that's what makes this piece really stand out. c:

Her OC is a crazy mix of everything random- pelicans are her favorite animal, so this design has a pelican head- Truly, I love the originality on this one. I think that is why I enjoyed drawing it so much!

Looking great! I especially like the rough use of the darker brush over a lighter base for the main body, it gives a nice texture and helps describe the shape of the body.

Thanks dear! I'd have to agree, the lighter color with darker strokes really brought out the form without hindering it. Technically, the dragon's skin is a black, but I just used a purple base and used even darker purple to color. I don't think I used any black in this at all!

Of course, and there's no reason for feeling guilty. Life happens, believe me I know this. I don't even spend enough time on DA anymore compared to before. I'm actually on FurAffinity a lot more(easier on the laptop

It's "furry" oriented, mainly for anthro art, but I find plenty of good dragon art on there despite me being a non-fur. You should check it out.
