Shallan Davar from Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive. Pen on paper, 20 cm x 20 cm.First, it’s been a while. Second, this is fan art. I have rarely ever drawn fan art. I love it, but my attempts always feel so inadequate. But this time, I just could not help myself. I had to get it on the page!
I finished Words of Radiance a few weeks ago, and leading up to the release of the second book I’ve become completely obsessed with Roshar, the Cosmere and general Sanderson awesomeness. The books are wonderful, and the world is something that will seep into your dreams, so I highly recommend the series to anyone who loves fantasy or just wild, epic rides in general.
So yes, Shallan, I don’t know what to say to do her character justice. She is a very interesting redhead with a sharp tongue and a talent for drawing I would kill for. I’ve included some objects inspired by the book as part of the background. We’ve got a transforming goblet, inspiring portraits, patterns, a lovely weapon, beads and some Stormlight…ribbons…?
I had so much fun working on this, I hope I can focus enough to do another one. Kaladin, maybe? Drawing Syl might be more fun than I can handle, though...

I absolutely love this! It's such a capture of Shallan as a character. It's hard to nail it down because it changes, but at the moment Shallan is my absolute favorite character in the Stormlight Archive.
I actually have a question for you. I am a YouTuber and I am working on a project called "Letters from the Cosmere" Brandon Sanderson and I worked this out a few months ago. It is a creative approach to exploring the various topics of the Cosmere. In this series I also want to feature art of Cosmere fans. I would love to feature your art in latter episodes. However I will never use your work without your permission. I think this piece as well as your other Cosmere works would be a fantastic addition to this series. May I use your works in this project?
