Description
I was asked to design something unique with a dragonfly theme. A lot of ideas struggled in me, but at the sketch stage, my hands introduced the proposal of a Dragonfly -Warrior with a sword and a hunted prey in a cage. This project turned out to charm the Client, which made me really glad to be working on this piece. Its style refers to the works of Rene Lalique. The warrior’s hairstyle has buns made of Zambian emeralds that look like the eyes of an insect from a distance. 16 rubies are set in her wings, also decorated with 24k gold flakes. The braided tail is decorated with garnets and adorned at the top with an Australian opal, which I personally chopped off a rock in Australia and polished back home. The warrior holds a saber in one hand, and in the other her prey - an amber with an insect inclusion (Diptera) from the Eocene epoch. The inclusion is about 40 million years old. The body of the warrior is gold-plated.
