Description
If the name wasn't a dead giveaway, the Mimic possesses the innate ability to mimic the behavior of anyone it sees. Originally created as a tool to keep its creator's child safe and provide entertainment while he tended to his work as an engineer for Fazbear Entertainment, it was ultimately battered and beaten by its own creator after the child was murdered due to a circumstance outside of its control. Filled with rage and despair, the creator stopped the destroying process and abandoned it, with the mindset that the endoskeleton wasn't responsible for the death of his own child, but his own negligence. However, unbeknownst to him, the Mimic learned violence, and it wouldn't be long before Fazbear Entertainment visited the facility and salvaged the animatronic.

During this time, the "Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience" was in the works, and the CEO, being a cheapskate, decided to have the development team scan circuit boards and other salvaged items to make the programming process faster and easier to meet the deadline, and among the scanned boards, the Mimic's AI, "Mimic1" was scanned into the game and the Mimic would learn of William Afton's crimes and ambitions. Seeing how its bloodlust lined up with Afton's, it proceeded to mimic Afton, even going as so far as to copy his speech pattern and don a costume that resembles that of a golden rabbit, Glitchtrap. With this in place, the Mimic then began to brainwash the beta testers of the game and managed to successfully merge with a beta tester named Vanessa.

With Vanessa's consciousness now trapped in the game, it would lead to the young woman committing a series of murders, killing innocent children and using their remnant to being the Mimic back into the real world under the "Burntrap" persona, under the guise of her "servant" alter-ego, Vanny. It was also during this time that the Mega Pizzaplex was about to open to the public with Fazbear Entertainment successfully rebranding. The Mimic, seeing this as an opportunity to be brought into the real world, especially since the mall was built overtop the location where Henry had burned everything down, including killing Afton, it proceeded to fire all the human personnel of the facility under petty crimes, while also hacking into the systems to ensure Vanessa occupied head security, even when she has zero experience in keeping watch of a big building such as the Pizzaplex.

In the meantime, while Vanessa was working on her rabbit costume, the Mimic had somehow taken control of a homeless orphan named Gregory to help him commit its crimes, even hacking the other Glamrock Animatronics, ensuring that Vanessa would follow its orders, and going as far as to kill any therapists that she was talking to once they got too close to the truth. Once the puzzle pieces were in place, the Mimic released its control of Gregory, and it and Vanessa would proceed on with the plan of getting the Mimic's AI in a physical body. However, unfortunately for it, Gregory, with the help of Glamrock Freddy, foiled its plans and freed Vanessa from its control, allowing her to escape along with the boy and the bear's head.

But before the three of them could leave the Pizzaplex and start anew, Vanessa informs Gregory of the Mimic and how it may continue to lead to more disappearances of the kids in the neighborhood if they don't deal with it. Venturing deep beneath the Pizzaplex under "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place" where Henry burned the rogue animatronics, Vanessa and Gregory successfully lure the Mimic, who is in an animatronic form, to a room at the back of the area containing animal costumes, and they seal the area off with concrete to prevent it from escaping and activate the M.X.E.S. Security Program to guarantee that no one could set it free. Yet, when Gregory makes it out of the room where the Mimic was trapped in, the endoskeleton sees that he dropped his Freddy walkie-talkie. Viewing this as its chance to escape, the Mimic then learns of Gregory's best friend, Cassie, using the Pizzaplex's database since its AI was uploaded into its systems, successfully tricking the girl into deactivating the security nodes that they put in place, and destroying the concrete wall, pretending to be Gregory and weaponizing their friendship to its advantage.

When Cassie approaches the Mimic, asking it what it is, the endoskeleton makes the move to attack her, but not before Roxy suddenly appears, holding it off and ordering at Cassie to get out of there. As the young girl does what she is told, the real Gregory contacts her and informs her of the obvious: he's not at the Pizzaplex and the Mimic had tricked her. Utilizing the help of Vanessa, who has access to the building maps, he guides her out of the area while the Mimic gives chase.

In "Steam Forces", there is a new ending to this final chase.

Just before the Mimic could make a grab for Cassie as she approaches the elevator, the Third Eye awakens, causing it and Cassie to get sucked into the world created by Renier and the doctors of the operation. Impressed by how advanced the Mimic is, despite it being an endoskeleton, intrigued the doctors to study it and use its murderous tendencies to their advantage to cause all those that have not submitted to their rule to surrender their allegiance to them.

In "Steam Forces", the Mimic plays the role of one of the doctors' most powerful weapons to achieve total multiversal domination. With superhuman strength, the ability to compress its body to fit into costumes of varying sizes, and mimic behavior presented in front of it, even copying voices to a T, the Resistance will need to keep on their guard for what exactly have the doctors did to it and what new tricks and attacks this evil endoskeleton has up its sleeves. One thing is for certain: as long as the Mimic is free, it will always be a liability.
