From now on I'm just gonna call Liam's arc DIY2 because that's basically what it is anyway lol...Buuut here are some characters that will show up in that part. They're all around their late 20s in the actual story but this is a dumb college-age group picture of a beach trip because of reasons.
In the story, Tristan owns a bar and all of the bartenders are his best friends from high school.

Haha Tristan -is- pretty lucky~ he's had the same group of friends since like middle school and somehow they haven't all killed each other yet <3
He was actually dating Vanessa at that point but they broke up and stayed friends. :> Nessa becomes a really good friend to Liam too actually~

Yeah, I have a couple of friends back from elementary school still, and a few from middle school as well, but my best friend is someone I actually didn't meet through school... though I've known her just as long ^^ Those people are all very dear to me, but none is nearly as important as my best friend. I don't have that many close friends; I don't make them easily. But once I do, they stay. That's why I still call the ones friends I met in Kindergarten and elementary school ^^
And Tristan is indeed very lucky if the thing with Vanessa has worked out like that. I have a friend who tells me over and over about that one guy she's been together with, who was her best friend a couple of years back, until they got together; and it didn't work out. She says she still misses him. I think that must be very sad. I'm happy if Tristan and Vanessa managed to stay friends!

Ahhh that's really cool that you have friendships from such a young age! I don't really have any friends from the time when I was in school - most of my friends now are people I've met online through my webcomics!
I think a big part of why Tristan and Vanessa's relationship didn't ruin their friendship is because not much really changed between them when they started dating except some kissing. Vanessa is a trans woman and hated her pre-surgery body, and Tristan is asexual so they never had any kind of sexual relationship.
I love these characters so much, I started writing out their storyline ahead of time and it turned into a 100+ page story of Liam's life with Tristan haha...
