Description March 19
Today I arrived at this aboriginal village located deep in the rainforest. According to the sources I found, the village has a long-standing culture of worshipping the tiger god. I believe that the first-hand information collected here will be helpful to my research.

However, after a whole day of wandering around in the village, I didn't get any useful information. For some reason, when the villagers heard I was investigating their tradition and god, they immediately became wary and seemed unwilling to share anything about it.

March 20
There's a strange little house inside the village. The door or windows are all blocked so that the inside cannot be seen. Although some villagers would bring food in there from time to time, they all quickly step out again. I tried to ask them who lives inside, but no one seemed cared to answer me. How strange is that?

There must be some unspeakable secret hidden inside.

March 21
Finally met the person living in there.

While wandering around that house, I heard someone muttering in Mandarin inside. I was surprised that there would be a Chinese person in this place. I immediately shouted with the little Chinese I had learned: "Hello, can I meet you?"

The voice inside stopped. After a while, the door opened, and a face peered out.

At first I thought it was a shirtless young man, but as his full body was revealed, I realized it was more than that. The upper half of his body was like any other man, but the lower half was undoubtedly in the form of a tiger, yes, tiger! Four legs, orange fur, black stripes, and a long tail slightly wagging behind him. The junction between his upper and lower bodies was smooth and seamless, as if they were meant to be like this.

Luckily, since he also speaks English, there was no problem communicating. He seemed a bit shy about exposing his body to me at first, but since I tried very hard to act normal, he quickly adapted.

The man's name is Hu, and about a year ago (when he still had only two legs), he came here to travel. The local guide he hired gave him a pendant before departure, saying it was a talisman blessed by the Tiger God, which could supposedly protect his safety during the trip.

That day, he came to the village but accidentally fell down a steep hill while exploring around. His right leg was fractured and was unable to move at all.

"I'm doomed," he thought in despair. There were rarely any people passing by, and his phone couldn't even receive a signal.

As he became desperate, the talisman on his chest began to emit light so bright that he couldn't even see his surroundings anymore. He felt dizzy and was soon put to sleep.

When Hu woke up again, his body had… changed. The scars and the pain on his body all miraculously dissipated. Although it felt a bit weird, there was no discomfort when he moved around with his new body, as if he was born to walk like this.

With the strength given by his new body, he easily climbed up the steep slope. When he returned to the village to seek help, however, the villagers viewed him as the arrival of a legendary deity and began to serve him. Hu had no choice but to temporarily live in the village. He was worried that if his situation was exposed to the outside world, he would be in danger, so he ordered the villagers not to reveal his case to outsiders.

Hu's original plan was to wait a few days and see if his body would inexplicably change back. Well, a year has passed, and the only notable change on his body is that his fur has become denser.

March 25
Under Hu's permission, the villagers have become quite cooperative during the interviews, and my research has been progressing smoothly in the past few days.

It is worth mentioning that the village seemed to have had a tradition of making pendents and talismans in the past, but now the skill has been lost. According to legend, talismans act as a contract between humans and the Tiger God. When the wearers are in danger, he will bestow them with his divine spirit to help them make it through.

However, the legend did not mention any method to terminate the contract or to reverse its effect.

April 2
Tomorrow I will depart from the village. Earlier this day, I asked Hu again if he wanted to come with me. I promised to protect his safety and keep searching for a way to change him back, but he eventually declined. He seems to feel more comfortable staying here than hiding all the time in the civilized world.

He told me that that he has gradually become accustomed to this body and has begun to appreciate the ability that the divine spirit has given him.

I promised to come back and meet him again someday.
