She was a wild turkey hen indeed. She stayed around for three years, but she was vanished! I hope she joined a group of her own species, but we'll never know.

Don't know...its odd that he is alone , since wild turkey hang out in groups.

He's definitely not anything like the wild turkeys I get in my yard! I'd have to agree that I think it's from a farm or something in your area.

Well, from what I know, wild turkeys can seem relatively tame when they are young, but become distinctly more "wild" when they reach adulthood. If you are able to, visit the PBS website and see if you can watch the Nature program from this season, "My Life as a Turkey" -- great stuff!
We recently got a wild turkey at the wildlife-education place I volunteer at, and she is a hoot. I make turkey-noises at her (according to the above program, they have quite an extensive vocal repetoire), and she seems very intrigued by that. But she's gotten to the point where I'd be wary about getting near her.
I think turkeys just have such gorgeous feathers!

I'll probably just leave him alone, unless he starts attacking ME, or seriously attacking the llamas... then we shall see ...

Dem some preeety feathers when he sheds them.. I had a whole bagful of them from some fly fishers who's brother had gotten and had no use for the feathers, and he just plopped this big garbage bag of feathers in my hands and said "have fun!". It was years ago and the bag had since been thrown away via stepmom ¬_¬
If he appears to be domesticated, you could ask around to see if anyone lost their turkey and have them come fetch him.

Aaaaand, knowing what little I do of you, you'll study him for all he's worth and draw him in your awesome comic (Air Carps had me laughing SO HARD!)
