Next up in my Avengers Academy portraits, Natasha Romanoff. I haven't posted much this past week because I've been really trying to narrow down my personal style and figure out where I want to be as an artist. One of my issues is that I try very very hard to make my characters look like their actors or make them somewhat realistic. And I get frustrated very quickly.

So with this one, the only reference I used was from the game, and let my own personal style come before anything else. The purpose of this project wasn't to make a set of similar Marvel portraits, but to use them as a way to experiment and figure myself out. I also really struggle with coming up with ideas, so the Marvel portraits seemed like a good way to help me fill that void and keep me drawing daily. Since there are so many characters.

I really like how this one came out even though I usually try not to make them look so similar to their Avengers Academy icons. I do, however, want to stop making them just floating heads (if I can get away with it), and do something different for the backgrounds.

So I'm sorry this description was so long-winded, but I'm really trying to work on changing things and figuring myself out. And I felt like I should explain why my style is changing.
