Never heard of this game called Tiberian Sun, though I do quite like the scene you have depicted here. An apocalyptic landscape an war-torn destruction, yet their seems to be these crystals green like emerald, surely they are not. I like the look of represented toxic waters with a green sky that matches, so very well done.

yup the good old games when the storyline meant more then the graphics. I never did understand how the NOD barracks in Tiberian Sun fit anyone inside though. Can you imagine being the commander and having your office inside the middle finger?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

ReptileCynrik In reply to GratefulReflex [2012-09-06 11:38:59 +0000 UTC]

Hehehe... the gauntlet is only the upper part of the barracks. I'm sure (IF there is any logical explanation) that the barracks are underground here!

Though, the middle finger idea is funny...

That would make sense you'd think they'd pick a less visible structure. NOD is still incredibly weird at times.

ReptileCynrik In reply to GratefulReflex [2012-09-07 11:43:00 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I've heard they build the barracks underground and only the entrance is the shape of the hand (regarding to fluff). Anyway, I also think that some underground "lair" would provide some additional protection against attacks and Tiberium! ^^

T-Sun is a great game for nostalgia sake. It was one of the last before EA games took over and turned it into a graphics festival.

I imagine that the hand is just the entrance and that you can go down a staircase at the wrist to an underground barracks. Fits with the underground theme of NOD in TS, too.

At first (because of the title) I thought this soldier must find a bomb, hidden somewhere in this city, before it explode. But now I see there's nothing left there...
Anyway - this looks awesome. I like the colors and this dark mood around the whole place most.

Famous? Well, personally I prefer themes like "Valves" and "Gloom". Actually, "Valves" is the first theme that comes to my mind while thinking about Tiberian Sun.

And hell, the first comment was mine! .

Curanus In reply to Bazil3282 [2012-09-06 05:32:46 +0000 UTC]

I named this piece "Timebomb", because

1.) it fits the apocalyptic setting
2.) it was the first song that played in my first mission in the game, so it is kinda like "Act on Instinct" for me - my personal main theme for TS

Aaah... Nostalgia.

Where are those good old days, where C&C franchise was in the right hands - namely Westwood's? I hate EA big time - they ruined that series. Instead of making them with heart and proper plot, with RA2 and C&C3 they gave us just boxes filled with hollow play and complete "idiot plot".

The last really great game in C&C series was Tiberian Sun. All that was made later, "thanks" to EA - to hell with that shit.
