Description
I've been gradually trying to change my style up some and forgo grotesque amounts of detail all over in designs in favor of more simple stuff with a few focal points. I've also wanted to toy around with making more exaggerated deviations in the human form without sacrificing too much accuracy in anatomy, so uh... that's a thing now.
Anyway, here's Shar again, with a tweaked design to match the tweaked process!

I know I said it last night, but I'll just say it again because I can. : P
I do really love this. She looks absolutely wonderful.
While I do sort of agree with Joe, with just a tad more depth, at the same time I do absolutely adore the gradients.
I also enjoy the fact that while this is a good change, it's still resembles your old style a bit, but fresher. I dunno... I just find stuff like that cool.

I was starting to feel stagnant honestly. Even if it isn't a total 180 shift I'm still eager to keep toying around with it. Any particular aesthetic that you are looking to work towards?

Well, I want to break myself away from the regular japanese manga/anime style, you know?
Not squinty unexpressive eyes like western comics though, either. Something like Lackadaisy, or Crankrats. Maybe even Drowtales...
Considering either continuing Kamen, or starting over (I know... again...)
Also was considering a title change, and Kamen tends to find "Kamen Rider" for pages and pages in the search

I know such a feeling. I've been looking at drazebot, and theCHAMBA's stuff a lot. They have a neat style I'd like to try and emulate.
Though I can easily see Kamen translated into a style like Lackadaisy. I say start it over, you may get a burst of inspiration and do something different with the plot on a whim.

Hmm~ have to say, I really do like Shar's redesign!
I know half the people here are like
"nooo but we love the detail!!"
and don't get me wrong, you and your detailed work are a force to be reckoned with, but I say this is a good change.
It still have detail and looks like an interesting outfit. not only that but she overall looks damn good.
I think the change is pretty great~
though I don't know if it's me and the early morning but her thumb looks a bit off... but once again that could just be me being... well me.

I must admit, I do prefer your over-the-top detail style to this one, but this style seems more practical for faster recreational drawing. Either way, I love your art.
Though, one small issue I have with this is that the shading could be a bit more defined, to give it more depth. It almost looks like a flat-color. Unless that's what you were going for. I dunno, you artist types are weird.

I'm inclined to agree on that point. The overall goal I'm going for is to simplify things for faster speed and efficiency to take back to my other style. There is indeed an intentional lack of depth, but after stepping away from it overnight and coming back I'm seeing that there's perhaps too little. Thanks for the feedback Joe! It will prove to be most helpful.

That's still quite a bit of detail there. Is there an earlier picture for comparison? I saw a chibi and a ref sheet, but she wasn't wearing the same outfit in that one.

That's QUITE a transition, going from elegant sorceress-like to tribal. No wonder her body language changes to match too.

Pretty good! Still need to get around to writing a backstory. I really wanted to make a more present-minded character this time around, but if I'm going to write a backstory I may as well make it good.
Good luck. I could see how some more of your crazy details could fit well here. For now, it's certainly great for recreational drawing. I hope to see more~
