As always... your peices are quite emotive. They never fail to move me in some way. I suppose this one moved me more than usual - my heart sank as I peered into it - because it struck close to home. It looks a lot, I think, how I feel on the inside? There is something there, its got a strong base but there is very little tending it. The white in the background reminds me of storm clouds, a common images used for depicting conflict or ominouse events. It also serves as a light source to illuminate the delicate shape of the heart-plant, which without the clouds, would be shrouded in darkness. #____# Perhaps the plant needs water. The plant, while wilting, also has new growth. To me this symbolizes that the plant is not dead and is still capable of regenerating itself despite its troubled and seemingly rough surroundings.
@________@ Or I could be crazy cause I have a fever.

Alberto-
I know you are asking for advanced critique on this but I honestly, do not know what to say. I am stunned by this piece. One of your best. I love the simplicity of it which slightly masks the turmoil. While the focus is on the outstanding red heart, it is the storm cloud in the back that fills me with fear and the darkness that surrounds it. The texture is beautiful and the contrast is again, simple but amazing. I hope this piece released something from you that needed to be free. Amazing.

Overall, its a great peice, but I really love the angle of the heart and those little swirls... such a nice touch.

Albert,
Henri Nouwen wrote "The Inner Voice of Love" as his journal during an extremely dark time. His world (he was a renowned writer and scholar) seemed to cave in on him. He found himself without love, engulfed by despair. By the grace of God and with the help of the monastic community of which he was a part, he made it through, and back to the light.
You come to the end of yourself. All hope is lost in the darkness; you are lost and alone in the blinding cloud. Sin amor. Without love. Your heart has been hung out to dry. But if you have eyes to see, and blessing of all blessings, a hand to lead you, a smile may creep in. All your support has fallen away, yet you are held. And, lo, your heart is not impaled on a stake but dangling from a iron lampstand (and a graceful one at that). And can you believe it, just like Aaron's rod the lampstand has budded and put forth leaves. The cold iron trembles with light and warmth.
Henri Nouwen's journal is a series of "spritual directives" he wrote to himself as he reflected on his sessions with his asigned spritual guides. In one of them he instructed himself, when all love seemed to have abandoned him, to keep saying, "God loves you; God's love is enough."
Thanks,
Steve

I love the contrast between the white and black and the red heart. This looks amazing.
