I agree, to the fullest. It's really weird seeing how bands I liked before they became popular turn and loose the gist and the spark they had before they became puppets on strings for the public.. doesn't apply to only rock n roll either, but everything. It just turns POP when it gets popular, no matter what it was before. All my friends say I'm judging and narrowminded when I say I don't like pop, but there's a reason.. it sounds all the same, and it tries to swallow up everything that doesn't sound like it.
I like your message. Music is an issue close to my heart, I couldn't do without it.

Exactly. Yes it applies to everything the mainstream adopts. To quote the mission statement of the Church of the Subgenius "We are going to turn this religion into a lot of little jokes before the conspiricy turns it into one big one"

Hehe, good statement! What's the Church of the Subgenius about?

Ahhh the COTSG is a glorious org. If you ever get the chance to read the book of the subgenius I *HIGHLY* reccomend it. Ive studied religious beliefs most of my life and the levels of parody that these folk who wrote it achieve is breathtakingly funny in the most inellectual AND crass manners at the same time. There were pages where I thought "my god, I have always thought that" and then a few sentances later "you insidious bastards". Satire occurs on every religion that has ever held a longterm stronghold from Sumerian to Taoist to Xian. The funny thing is that while doing this satire so well they actually manage to deliver a very sound philosophy.
Really, I rank it among the best books I have ever read or even heard about.

It sounds neat! But also a little obscure, I doubt I'd be able to find it any Norwegian bookstore.. do you think Amazon could have it?

Yikes...if I knew what that all meant I might agree with you. Too much for my poor little brain.

More than happy to rephrase: the corporations jump on anything that makes money and try to imitate it so as to make more money, to do so so they sell it as 'cool' and since most people are trying to be 'cooler-than-the-next-guy' they lap it up like dogs and thusly are kept on leashes by their own doing.

This is really awsome. The picture is confusing though, if you don't read the comment. I never wished my music popularity, I only wished for it not to be judged so harshly.
Praise dead music, it's heart still beats with us.
