Alright. From all of the characters you drew I noticed a few things, then again, perhaps you had to make adjustments for the type of character drawn here...

As I look back at your gallery I noticed how more cartoony your drawings were this one has more of an even balance between a more realistic drawing and cartoons, one of the many things I've been trying to master for my self.

I also noticed that the choice of lineart it's coloured lineart. and it's thicker too. NOW, I'm not saying it's bad. I'm saying it's interesting what you did. It's always a good idea to experiment with your art, that's how you grow.

I'm saying it's nice compared to the other stuff you do, Then again I like almost everything you do because your style is constantly so fluent and full of life.

What ever you had done or taught your self and learned from others, Helped you a lot, this is the type of art I grew to want to draw like.

Also you were smart for avoiding Anime... Damn. I wish I wasn't such a stupid schmuck as a kid
once you go anime it curses you when you try to draw more realistically...

however, not all anime is that bad... there are some that i've mistaken as non-anime cartoons... like Deadspace downfall... [[asdfhg HUNNNGgggg love that movie, however I do hope I've been wrong about that though...]]

The thick lines syndrome is something directly influenced by my new job. I have to do thick lines all the time to counter the resizing...I'm not proud of that.
The more realistic proportions on this particular drawing are because I couldn't really imagine Marcos with freaking huge eyes like Jake XD. I'm more a fan of cartoon proportions but as you said Ilike to try and find the middle.
And I'm not much into the anime aesthetics. Anime "cute" faces look stupid to me.
