Just watched this movie and adhnsjkfhsfna
And I was driven to do this cause I couldn't find enough fanart of this two. I mean NOT NEARLY ENOUGH.
WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE THEY'RE SO SHIPPABLE.
Also they just spent %80 of the movie falling in love with each other. With Mavis it was just like *le magic stare for two seconds* *flirtingflirtingflirting* *le random cute scene #1* *le random cute scene #2* *le dance scene* and then OMG I LUV U FUREVURRZZZZ WE'RE SO LIKE MADE FUR EACHUDURRRHURRR 'N BUNDED FUR LIFFZZZ

Don't get me wrong, I like Mavis, she's cool and all but I just don't get that "zing" thing. I don't buy it. Real love doesn't works that way. The boding Drac and Johnny made was far more real and deep that the random flirting Mavis and Johnny had.

I am SO glad I'm not the only one who saw this. Even when I first watched it, it was way too noticeable. I love these drawings, they're so good! ^-^ I agree with you about the awfully plot-convenient Mavis falling for Johnny and visa versa all at once, even if it is cute and I still ship it. The Johncula ship, however is starting to grow on me. XD I might draw something.

I really never shipped Mavis and Johnny, I hate to have cliches thrown at me in such batlant way and their entire relationship is one entire cliche in my book. Drac and Johnny's relationship, on the other hand, felt much more natural and genuine to me

I completely agree. It happens to me all the time with cliched, immediately off the ground ships. They really rather bug me. :/ Dracula and Johnny had SO much more development in the movie, it was practically just them 100% of the time.

I like to think of the Zing thing a little differently than what they say it means. I think they misunderstand the point of a Zing. For example, they say it only happens once in your life, and to them it would imply that the people who Zing are meant to be. I think it's very different. I think that a "Zing" means that you've met the person that is going to completely change not just your life, but the lives of those around you. Dracula's Zing was with the woman he fell in love with (Martha). I like to think that she was the one to change him from what Dracula originally was (He IS Vlad the Impaler, after all, I'm fairly certain he was not always the fun guy everybody loves in this movie) into a much more caring and less animalistic vampire. For example, what Dracula WAS may have caused the village people to attack him, and consequently killed Martha before she could help him to accept humans as not something to destroy OR fear. So he built Hotel Transylvania to protect monsters from humans, because he wasn't completely affected by the Zing Martha possessed. Because of this, he has already zinged so he can't have another, but the "Zing" is incomplete. So when Johnny showed up, I like to think that, while he IS what changed Mavis' life forever, that he's actually the completion of what Martha began with Dracula.


Jeez, I've thought about this waaaaaaay too much o.O I love being a geek...

Well this makes a lot of sense actually o.O and I have to admit in this sense, it fits pretty well with what we saw...Howere that's not the definition the movie brings us and altough I'd like to stick with this headcanon, where the "Zing" is more like a singularity that changes somebody's life for the best (I wonder how would it be called if it changed it for the worst...hm...) that's not what they really meant with Zing in the movie, and most of us here agree that the message they tried to deliever was unrealistic and incomplete in many many ways. I wonder how much did they thinked this through...

Basically I'm saying the movie is wrong, lol. And who knows, maybe a Zing COULD change someone's life for the worst, I just seriously doubt it. I know the movie makes it out like a Zing means they're meant to be. That's why I said the monsters have it wrong XD Because a Zing just doesn't happen and makes a poor excuse to throw a pair together. My opinion is that it makes those who would normally think of meeting someone as a 'chance encounter' realize that the person is important to their life. I just don't think it should mean they should end up as a couple 100% of the time. Can it work out? Sure, I mean, Dracula and Martha were great for each other and lived happily together until Martha was killed by humans. That wasn't a problem between them, but one that occurred outside their control. But is it always the happiest ending for the pair? I don't think so. So I will ship Dracula and Jonathan (I think it's called Joncula) forever and ever

OK, the first time I zinged it was in kingergarden, the boy was a complete nerd and he liked me back. ; n ; But I was scared of admitting I liked him because he was a freaky nerd and I'd loose friends.
Second time I zinged... I was omega friendzone and too scared to ask a boy out. It was the most painful 3 years of my life... And he broke my heart...
