I don't exactly know how to explain clearly without pictures but I basically roughly outlined the area of the drawing that would be in shadows (in this case the lower half of the drawing since the light is from above) then I just detailed it out with clumps of fur on the most fluffiest parts of the character, in this case the mane and the tail ovo

I may do a quick step-by-step on how I shade but my shading strategy isn't very much different from others :'D
