His 'mask' (read, part of his face) is made up of a flexible chitin-like substance. It's a material made somewhat malleable by the weird portal in his blood , so it moves around like ghostmetal does. HOWEVER. It is not ghostmetal . It's a material forged to force him to maintain a stable shape/keep the portal in him locked up. It moves but is still stiff and resilient. The 'mask' was grafted on to him during his forging, but he grew into it over time. He can feel temperature changes and hard impacts on contact, but not light touches like from the wind or from feathers.

His face makes funny hollow metal noises when you knock on it (not advised)! It is also confirmed to attract colorful fridge magnets (please keep your fingers safe).
