Description This is my son's queensland heeler, she's 8 now, her original name was cherokee, but over the years it became "woofie" this is also in chalk pastels.

Thank you so much. I used a smooth water color paper, it holds up really well to the blending. I've been using pastels since high school in art, I don't use them often so some of my results are funny. When doing hair or fur, I blend in the back colors then use the edge of the pastel to make sharper lines. It's mostly experimenting. I checked out your work and you actually have a good use of the pastels, I think it was more of what you were putting them on. I'm getting ready to have this painting framed. This was my son's dog, unfortunately she was killed by a mountain lion last year. I put you on my watch so I don't miss your work.

Wow this is wonderful! I really love the dog's eyes. You definitely succeeded in capturing that gleam that's in heelers' eyes! Love this!
