Class Trip to England

Part 9 - Discovering...Even More Wild Life? 2

Since the squirrel didn't feel threatened, I tried to get a bit nearer without disturbing it. As you can see, I managed it! We watched it a long time until we had to come back to the entrance of the Royal Pavillion to start the tour. Unfortunately you aren't allowed to take photos from the inside, so I can just describe what I've seen. The entrance hall was covered in a chinese theme, which was quite interesting because you know that you're in an English town but felt as you would be somewhere in India or China. There were dragons and bamboo on the wallpaper and a staircase to the next floor of the pavillion. The next room was so impressing that I wish I could have been there for a longer time than our timetable planned. It was dining room, but I would rather call it dining hall: The walls were so high and the room so long, a dragon chandelier hung from the ceiling and on the ceiling itself was a nice painting that also included 3D elements. The long table in the middle with the pompous chairs around it was layed with lots of food. The sides of the hall were decorated with statues and expensive looking lamps. The main colour palette included red, gold and green, again a chinese look. A huge kitchen was right behind this hall, with palm statues in the middle leading up to some windows. We went through a whole bunch of other rooms which I can't all remember, but these three were definitely the most amazing ones in my opinion. Continue with Part 10...
