The atmosphere was palpable even in the thumbnail.
It shows the power of a sparse approach and the exclusion of unnecessary detail and clutter.
My one question is whether the figure should be in the centre, and that is a matter for the artist's intent between showing their isolation or their insignificance.

from a distance this looked like a fireman at 911 in Downtown New York. I saw it first hand happening. When I pulled it close I see it seems like desolation in some distant future, but it could be a look back to the 1940s. Excellent piece.
