Description
HUFFSokay. I have spent so many hours on this over the past couple days and let me tell you... it's been rough.
As an artist I mostly spend my work doing very simplistic, transparent background images because it's easier. I knew for this DTA I would need to step up my game and try my best. So...here it is! This is my entry. I'm still coming up with a name for him, but I'm also working on a reference kinda thing with his style style all in there and what not.
His personality is very adventurous, hence the exploring a crystal mine. He's also extremely sassy and sarcastic. Overall, he puts a front out for everyone because he's actually super emotional and gets hurt easily.
The flower I chose was a white hibiscus, with tear drops in the middle parts of the petals to mimic the markings on his back. Also, I am never drawing crystals again OTL
I was really hesitant to post this because I've never entered a DTA before...not in years and years and I always get so discouraged by all the amazing entries! I hope everyone the best of luck though! All your entries are amazing hUFFS
Flower Critters (c) PhloxeButt
Art by me ;_;
Name: Cadmium, named after the blue-ish white metal.
Nicknames: Cad, Caddy, Minum, [48, atomic number and ironically his favorite number]
Cad has distinct features that set him apart from everyone else. The teardrop markings, his standoffish attitude; all of it contributes to his uniqueness. Cad was born from a flower; a white hibiscus bloomed and out rolled a baby critter. That was how it was done; the right combination of pollen and the DNA swirling inside the flower creates something so tiny and beautiful. His mouth was stitched shut moments after birth, his voice too powerful to be heard. Even being forced mute, Cadmium was no shy guy. He was sassy, as sassy as one with a flower tail and mouth stitches could be. His ears, expressions, small noises, and posture said it all. He puts out this front to protect him, as all insecure individuals do. Secretly, Cad fancies boys, but outwardly that wasn’t something he could so easily depict. Instead he comes off as a punkish skater boy with an attitude and cold shoulder to scare them all away. Of course, this critter does not live wild, as he has owners. The owners mostly keep to themselves on the outskirts of town, stories go to say that they have a man-eating pet, which is why his mouth was stitched. Only they know that Cad is all attitude and literally, no bite.
