Hi guys, sorry I've been gone for so long again, I was really into my drawing and practicing plus we've been having our ups and downs over here. I'm gonna try and be more active now.xD

Right as I get rid of some groups I go and join another one. Hopeless aren't I. XD But it has a concept I really like - it's kind of like Hiems but more serious and creepy. In fact I even played around with rebooting Minon for it but I didn't know how the medium thing'd work and Mao came to my head so I went with her. I actually had a LOT of ideas for this group - three pages of concept and Mao wasn't even on a single page.xDD;; She actually came to me while I was reading this book and listening to a song - I misread some words (about someone pretending to have a split personality) but welp too late to stop and out came Mao. She's kind of similar in a lot of ways to other female characters of mine (Minon, Athena in particular) but I think Mao stands out by just being nice. And stupid. Stupidly nice.

I wrote too much about her.

Personality:
Mao takes life a moment at a time and has a rather carefree "don't mind it, what will be will be" sort of attitude. She is patient and cool-headed with not much surprising her taking everything in good humour. It's pretty accurate to say she acts like an eight-year old boy - she pals around with boys, isn't familiar with girly talk and enjoys sports, pranks and laughter more than anything. She can, however, be a bit too zealous when it comes to doing "good" and seems to take pleasure in telling kids to eat their greens or thugs to throw away their trash properly.

Despite her cheer, she has no sense of self-worth (due to her past) and is harder on herself than anyone - this is probably why she forgives and forgets when it comes to others so easily. At times Mao's personality will change to something more serious and she will become/refer to herself as Jin. It is worth saying that Mao does NOT have a split personality but pretends to have one when she needs to be serious or powerful. Mao does not admit it isn't a real split personality but does admit she can't stop otherwise Jin will really disappear.

She is at her happiest when she is of use to someone so she often tries to be peoples' support. She really is thick as a brick though and admits with a laugh that she's a total meathead.

History:
Mao has always been in the shadow of her twin brother, Jin. Their hobbies were often similar and for some reason Jin always came out better. When it came to football, Jin was a star striker whilst Mao sat on the bench. When it came to socializing, Jin had more friends, admirers and rivals whereas Mao was lucky if someone knew her name. When it even came to grades Jin was better. Mao loved her brother and never held it against him but it did dent her confidence - even their parents thought Jin was better and the worst part was, Mao couldn't disagree. Whenever it got too overwhelming Mao went to her special place, a place no one knew Jin because no one else was there. And that place was the northern beach - in the early morning no one else was there and it was her own secret haven. She took all the coral and sea glass that'd washed up and crafted into things, patiently working in the quiet. Such a small thing gave her a smile for the rest of the day.

Life wasn't perfect but Mao was working it out. That was, until, a terrible accident ruined everything. Their father, who had been a rather seedy doctor, was driving them home on a rainy day. When police sirens suddenly sounded from behind them his driving became erratic and it became clear that he wasn't himself - that he was under an influence. A sharp turn and the car hurtled down the hill until it crashed into a tree. Mao lost nearly all vision in her left eye and got several scars - her father was also scarred. But Jin, poor Jin, had the worst of it. His back became broken and he was no longer able to play football. His face was scarred so those who once admired him backed off and superficially followed the next best thing.

Mao got a chance to actual play first-team football and with Jin injured she was somehow more popular than before. The attention made her feel alive. Of course, she'd never abandon Jin - Jin was her hero, her idol and her darling brother. That same brother detested her. One day he called her up to the roof and for the first time in her life, he cried. He laughed too, in a way Mao had never heard. He told her that she was positively worthless - that the only reason people wanted her around at all was because Mao was a second-rate version of himself. That she should've been the one who got crippled - that no one would've missed her if she just died. That even their parents secretly hated that she wasn't the one who suffered. And then he dropped. Jin had just been trying to scare his sister with the notion of suicide - he was feeling hurt, frustrated and somehow betrayed by a greater power. But when they found him, they all assumed it was suicide. Mao knew otherwise - she'd seen him slip - she'd seen his desperate eyes and she saw him hand reaching out. And over and over again that image repeated itself in her dreams, in her daydreams, just purely in her life. She rebuked herself for not being fast enough - for not being good enough and for not being the one that fell.

Nightmares prevented her sleep and guilt crawled in every part of her - she picked up smoking and tried to put it all into her work but it was no good. Then she came onto an idea - she would become Jin. In order to keep Jin alive, she needed to be Jin or at least keep his spirit alive inside her. For a while these two personalities made her erratic and hard to deal with but Mao worked hard to make herself whole; if it kept Jin alive then it was nothing.

With the house filled with too many memories Mao left and got a small flat nearby. Her depression was wearing off - the more she kept Jin alive, the more alive she felt. In order to keep the flat, she got a part-time job at the local bakery and with some extra money left over, she bought herself a pet - a ferret called Hero. Life still wasn't ideal - it was very murky but she was making it work. Suddenly however Mao received a letter from a place she didn't recognize... the Clover Club. And it was from Jin. After his fall, Jin had been in a coma and it seemed like he'd died. In her heart, there was still a belief that Jin was alive due to stupid things like "twintuition". But this letter in her hands proved it wasn't just a stupid hope. The letter was written in blue ink and had Jin's handwriting - it spoke of him traveling north to "find herself" and "take a break". It also said he wanted to see her again to apologize and that he was at a place called the Clover Club.

She didn't even think it over. Mao immediately made plans to go up north with Hero and meet with Jin - apologize for everything. But when she arrived there was no sign of Jin nor any sign that such a person had ever been there. Too determined to give up now, Mao decided to stay and investigate until she found out the truth behind the letter.

She is a terrible liar and has a weird habit of biting her sleeve when nervous.
Mao turns red easily - not due to embarrassment but due to the cold. Her nose gets particually red.
Has always lived rather cheaply so she knows how to make-do with odd ingredients and fixing old clothes.
Her eyepatch improves her near-to-non-existent vision in her left eye and without it she cannot see as well and her balance gets all screwy.
Commonly says: "Don't mind it!", "Whoa, that's cool!" and "Well that's no good!"
Hero tends to ride in her scarf due to its warmth.
Physically quite fit. She tends to use armbars and arm twists when in danger or telling a hooligan off.
Her stomach may be in fact made of iron as she often eats bad, raw or expired products with seemingly no damage to herself.
A messy person; it's not surprising to see her caked in mud, snow, her dinner, etc.
Her pockets are always filled to the brim with crap. Anything goes in there. thinkHagrid
She had a bit of a "knight complex" i.e. she loves helping those in need. If someone's about to trip she'll try and catch them. If someone's in danger, she'll step in front of it. She's not always great at it though so just think of her as your personal shield OTL
