Thank you very much! That part is definitely the hardest for me. I mostly experimented until I found something doable, and am still improving on it. Unfortunately I don't know of any good tutorials But basically, I crocheted a base piece that fit over the head like a beanie, then sewed into it, if that makes sense

One knot when I first started, but then I just sewed back and forth.
