It's interesting how pokemon has evolved in the last decade. The creatures have almost taken on Digimon skin patterns, as opposed to the traditional "alligator belly" look.

This isn't an actual pokemon (though I assume you know that) and it's not really stylistically relevant to pokemon as, like digimon, it's covered with a LOT of detail.
